MES Weekly Update

October 24, 2025

America's Safe Schools Week!

From October 19 to October 25, 2025, America’s Safe Schools Week is an annual initiative by the National School Safety Center designed to promote safety and security in schools. This week highlights the importance of creating safe, inclusive learning environments where students and staff can thrive. It also serves as a reminder for schools and communities to work together to ensure the well-being of everyone in our schools.
Safety also extends to our parking lots. We appreciate all students being safely secured in a car seat or seatbelt during our arrival and dismissal procedures!

Creativity Abounds in Mr. Walker's Art Classes!

Our students have been exploring creativity across all grade levels! Kindergarteners crafted vibrant sunflower collages bursting with color. Grade 1 students brought their imaginations to life with “Ish” drawings and paintings inspired by Peter Reynolds’ beloved book. In Grade 2, students created thoughtful still life drawings influenced by renowned artists Henri Matisse and Francisco Oller. Grade 3 students honed their observation skills by producing detailed technical drawings of Flint Corn using real corn as their reference. Meanwhile, Mrs. Shepard’s class embraced the season by painting pumpkins and colorful autumn leaves, celebrating the beauty of fall through art.
