Cape Cod Children's Place

This spring, starting Monday, April 13th
FIRST Steps Together is creating more space for
connection.
At Cape Cod Children’s Place, we’re offering multiple opportunities each week for our
community to come together around parenting, recovery, healing, and support.
We believe that when people feel seen, supported, and connected—real change becomes
possible.
If you’re in need of care, community, or simply a place to land... you are always welcome
here.

We sure do love our Para-Educators!

Recently we honored our amazing paraeducators who consistently go above and beyond to support our students, assist teachers and create a positive learning environment for all!
From lending a helping hand to building meaningful connections with students, your impact is felt every single day! Thank you for being such an important part of our MES community!

In the World of Physical Education

Hello MES Families,
Students in all grades are taking a pause on the curriculum we are currently working on in order to do our climbing apparatus in the gymnasium. Climbing trestles, ladder bridges, circling bars, balances beams, a springboard and more! Preschoolers are only allowed to go onto the smaller climbing pieces in the gymnasium where Kindergarten can use all of the equipment but are not allowed over the tops of the big climbing trestles. First graders are allowed to go over the tops of the big climbing trestles while second and third graders are also allowed to try cartwheels on the balance beam so long as they are successful at the black line challenge (which is demonstrating a cartwheel on a straight black line first). All students are encouraged to work within their ability and no one is pressured into doing anything. So if your child does not like heights they do not need to go on the big equipment. I will not force a child to try something that they may be frightened to do. We are working on climbing over, under, around and through the equipment in the gymnasium, strengthening our muscles in the process! After each class has had two lessons with this equipment, it will come down and the classes will go back to finishing the basketball and dance units they were working on prior to this! Ms. Buron

Polished Dental Visits at MES

Polished Dental will be visiting MES on Monday (4/13) & Tuesday (4/14).
Students that have had services in the fall will be seen for a second visit without another permission form.
Students interested in receiving services for the FIRST time (new participants) can come into school and see Nurse Leslie to sign up.
If the students already have a dentist, it is not necessary to use this service.

Cape Kids Meals-Weekend Meal Program

How it Works:
  1. Schools work with families to determine participation.
  2. Shelf stable food is purchased from the Greater Boston Food Band and other retail stores.
  3. Bags are packed weekly at one of Cape Kid Meals packing centers.
  4. CKM provides a bag filled with easy to prepare meals and snacks to help last them through the weekend.
  5. Bags are delivered to the schools each week.
  6. Bags are placed discreetly into a child’s backpack by school personnel before dismissal.
  7. The entire program is confidential-only the schools know who is participating.
