MES Announces New Principal Appointment

Marguerite E. Small Elementary School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Craddock as its new principal, effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Craddock joins MES Elementary with a strong track record of leadership and a deep commitment to student success. Most recently, he served as head principal at Cushing Elementary School K-5 in Scituate, Massachusetts. During his tenure, he earned high praise for his work in fostering a positive school culture, strengthening community engagement, and promoting inclusive, student-centered environments.
Mr. Craddock brings a comprehensive understanding of curriculum and instruction, along with a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning. His leadership approach prioritizes collaboration, relationship-building, and continuous improvement to ensure all students receive high-quality educational experiences.

My initial priority is to listen and learn in order to fully understand the strengths of the school and identify opportunities for continued growth. Throughout the interview process, it became evident that a strong foundation is already in place. I am eager to build upon these strengths while remaining open to new ideas and committed to continuous improvement. My goal is to support educators in their work so they can provide the highest quality learning experiences for all students. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and look forward to the work ahead,” said Mr.Craddock.
The appointment of Mr. Craddock follows a rigorous selection process involving the screening of a diverse pool of candidates. A panel consisting of parents, educators, and school leaders conducted initial interviews, which were followed by a series of in-depth discussions with the full leadership team. After a full-day visit to MES, Mr. Craddock emerged as one of two finalists and was ultimately selected for the role.
Superintendent, Dr. Marc Smith, also expressed enthusiasm about the appointment: “We are excited to welcome Mr. Craddock to our district as one of our school leaders. His experience, dedication to building strong school communities, and focus on both academic excellence and social-emotional growth make him an outstanding addition to MES Elementary. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on our students, staff, and families.”
