Field Day 2026!

Hard to believe but it is time to start thinking about Field Day! The MES annual Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday June 17th and the rain date is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th. I am looking for MANY, MANY, MANY parent volunteers to assist with running the stations. I am hoping to have enough parents to volunteer so that they can all take breaks from their stations to spend some time with their kiddos and still have enough help to run the station. The Field Day activities will take place in the morning and will be followed with a family picnic. If you would like to help, please return the bottom half of the page to the school by Friday, June 12th. You will need to report to the gymnasium by 9:30 am that morning for instructions and assignments. Parents with younger children are more than welcome to come and watch the activities but please do not volunteer to work a station as your full attention will be needed to help our Field Day participants! THANK YOU!
All students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 3 will be having Field Day at the same time. The students will start heading outside at 9:45 am for a group photo and a lap around the running track. It will end around 12:00 with the third graders carrying all of the equipment into the gymnasium to reconnect with their teachers. This will be followed by a family picnic on the back field. Feel free to pack your own lunch or buy the hotdog lunch from the cafeteria. There are no picnic tables so be sure to bring a blanket or chairs. Please dress for the weather with sunscreen and sneakers.
The whole MES Staff is looking forward to an enjoyable end of the year day!!
Sincerely,

Ms. Buron

New DYRSD Bus Transportation Request for the 2026–2027 School Year

The district has a new transportation request process for the 2026–2027 school year. Families must fill out a transportation form for each student to let us know if bus service is needed for next school year. Please login to ParentSquare to complete the form whether or not your student will ride the bus.
To make sure transportation is ready for the first day of school in September, forms must be turned in by June 25.
Forms turned in after June 25 may not be processed before school starts. Returning students who do not submit a form by the deadline will not automatically receive bus transportation. Families will need to submit a late request, which could cause a delay in service.
*Please note that this is for regular bus routes only, not specialized transportation.
Weekly reminders will be sent to families who have not yet completed the form.
If you have any questions or need any assistance please reach out to your child's school.
Thank you for your attention to this important deadline.

Cape Kids Meals-Weekend Meal Program

How it Works:
  1. Schools work with families to determine participation.
  2. Shelf stable food is purchased from the Greater Boston Food Band and other retail stores.
  3. Bags are packed weekly at one of Cape Kid Meals packing centers.
  4. CKM provides a bag filled with easy to prepare meals and snacks to help last them through the weekend.
  5. Bags are delivered to the schools each week.
  6. Bags are placed discreetly into a child’s backpack by school personnel before dismissal.
  7. The entire program is confidential-only the schools know who is participating.
